ABOUT
Erec arbeitet als Regisseur zwischen klassischem Erzählkino und offenen, assoziativen Formen – sowohl im Spiel- als auch im Dokumentarfilm. Seine Filme kreisen um Einsamkeit, fragile Beziehungen und die Bruchstellen unserer gesellschaftlichen Glücksversprechen. Mehr als äußere Ziele interessieren ihn die inneren Widersprüche seiner Figuren – dort, wo Motiv, Begehren und Handlung nicht mehr deckungsgleich sind.​

Geboren 1987, lebt in München. Ausbildung zum Mediengestalter Bild und Ton beim ZDF in Mainz. Anschließend Regie-Studium an der Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München (HFF). Abschluss mit Diplom im Jahr 2018.
Erecs Filme wurden national und international auf renommierten Festivals wie dem Filmfest München, dem Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis, HotDocs, DOK.fest München und CamerImage gezeigt und ausgezeichnet.

Erec ist Absolvent der 31. Drehbuchwerkstatt München 2019/2020, sowie der Talentförderprogramme "ZFF Academy" (Züricher Filmfest 2020) und "Berlinale Talents" (Berlinale 2021). Er ist Stipendiat des "Munich Film Up!" mentoring & residential Lab 2021/2022, sowie des "Junge Kunst und neue Wege" Stipendium des Freistaats Bayern 2022. Im Jahr 2022 gewann er den Starter Filmpreis der Stadt München, 2025 den Baden-Württembergischen Filmpreis.

Seit 2023 setzt sich Erec intensiv mit den ästhetischen, ethischen und strukturellen Auswirkungen generativer Künstlicher Intelligenz auf die Filmproduktion auseinander. Parallel dazu studiert er seit 2024 Japanologie an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, mit besonderem Interesse an nicht-westlichen Erzählmodellen und Dramaturgien.

Derzeit entwickelt er mehrere dokumentarische und szenische Projekte. Er wird vertreten von der Agentur Kolf.

Erec works between classical narrative cinema and open, associative forms—across both fiction and documentary. His films revolve around loneliness, fragile relationships, and the fault lines of our society’s promises of happiness. More than external goals, he is drawn to the inner contradictions of his characters—those moments where motive, desire, and action no longer align.
Born in 1987. Living in Munich, Germany. He completed vocational training as an editor at the Second German Television (ZDF). Studied directing at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF) afterwards. Graduated with a diploma in 2018.

Erecs films have been screened and awarded nationally and internationally at renowned festivals such as Filmfest Munich, Max Ophüls Film Festival, HotDocs, DOK.fest Munich and CamerImage.
Erec is a graduate of the 31st Drehbuchwerkstatt München 2019/2020, as well as the talent development programs "ZFF Academy" (Zurich Film Festival 2020) and "Berlinale Talents" (Berlinale 2021). He received a scholarship of the "Munich Film Up!" mentoring & residential Lab 2021/2022, as well as the "Young Art and New Ways" scholarship of the Free State of Bavaria 2022. In the same year, he won the Munich Starter Film Award; in 2025, he received the Baden-Württemberg Film Award.

Since 2023, Erec has been deeply engaged with the aesthetic, ethical, and structural implications of generative artificial intelligence for film production. In parallel, since 2024, he has been studying Japanese Studies at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, with a particular focus on non-Western narrative models and dramaturgies.
He is currently developing several documentary and feature projects and is represented by the Kolf Agency.
